kate spade Fine China

For all you brides-to-be out there registering, I am so jealous! I know that fine china is falling out of trend (I know I have only used mine three times in the seven years I have been married) but I am in love with almost every piece of Kate Spade fine china. I was initially drawn to the Gardner Street collection, but when I went to take a closer look online I also fell in love with three other sets!

kate spade "Belle Boulevard" Dinnerware Collection

I know that fine china doesn't always get used but there is something a little bit fun about knowing you have this little treasure tucked away in a china cabinet to mark a special occasion.

One of my favorite things about some of the weddings I have worked on have been the focus the bride and groom put on their guests. Yes, this day is all about the bride and groom, but they have chosen to surround themselves with 100-200 of their closest friends and family.

The guests at your wedding are the people who have loved and supported you throughout you life and the favors at your wedding are a great way to show those people how much you care for and appreciate them.

I always encourage my couples to give their guests some sort of edible favor just because they can be enjoyed at the reception and your guests definitely won't leave them behind.

I came across the Garnish website the other day and I think it is just the best site to help dress up those favors and make them something a little extra special. The best part is that you can buy an "idea" kit or browse their "bits n pieces" and come up with something totally on their own.

Nikki and Micah

Christina Ramge of CJ Photography has already posted some great pictures of Nikki and Micah's April 25th wedding. Here is just a taste but please visit Christina's blog for even more pictures of this beautiful day!

Cox Arboretum

We took the girls out to Cox Arboretum today for a little lunch and (extremely) amateur photo shoot. We were fortunate enough that some of the spring flowers were still in bloom.
While we were there, I think we saw four or five couples having their engagement photographs taken.

Cox Arboretum isn't just a great place to take pictures but it is a wonderful place to get married. They offer a variety of locations from Crabapple Allee to the Huffman Gallery where you will get all the beauty of being indoors but the convenience of being indoors - no need for a rain plan!

Enjoy these pictures of Emily and Brendan's wedding reception in the Fifth Third Conference Center at Cox Arboretum. Big thanks to Journal Weddings for the pictures.

If I haven't gone to sleep yet, will this post still count for Saturday? Today was a great day for a wedding. Everything was so beautiful and came together so well. I can't wait to get some pictures of Nikki and Micah's wedding for you all to see.

What a Beautiful Morning

I could not ask for a more perfect day to kick off wedding season! High of 80 today and tomorrow with a slight cloud cover to keep things from getting too hot - Nikki and Micah are in for a perfect wedding weekend! I can't wait to post the pictures Christina from CJ Photography will get of the couple in downtown Cincinnati's Garfield Park.
I am off to take my girls to the park, but from noon on it will be weddings, weddings, weddings!

Seating Cards

How thoughtful of Jayme and Chris included a floor plan in their seating cards so that guests are not wandering around the reception area searching for their table.

In honor of Earth Day I am going to ask that all brides try to incorporate at least one piece of "green" into their wedding.

Fashon Magazines

What better way to find inspiration for your wedding than in a Fashion Magazine. I love the bold colors of the Turquoise and Coral featured in this month's In Style Magazine.

Looking for ways to bring these colors into your special day? Check out these beautiful coral earrings from Yellow Finch Designs

Lainey's Birthday

Spring in the Leedy household doesn't just mean the start of wedding season but it also means the start of birthday party season! My daughter Lainey will be turning 4 this May and her party is starting to get a little out of control. Originally, my husband and I had planned a great mini-vacation to Great Wolf Lodge to celebrate her birthday until Lainey started planning a party for herself - centered around a horse shaped cake!

I don't know where she got the idea of a horse shaped cake but, lucky for me, the HWTM blog came through for me with a feature of 31 Incredible Birthday Cakes - one of them being a horse cake!

Another great find was these great vintage inspired cowgirl birthday invitations by Dolce Mia Designs, that I have used as my inspiration for the "theme" of the party.

Stay tuned for pictures of the party, pinata and all!

Blue and Green

We have been blessed to have two beautiful sunny days here in the midwest and I have found the vibrance of the blue sky against the lush green grass to be very inspiring.

Welcome Jennifer and Rogelio

The KL Wedding Designs family is growing! We would like to take a moment to welcome Jennifer and Rogelio who are planning a Dayton wedding all the way from Washington D.C. To make the wedding planning process even more stressful, Jennifer and Rogelio will also be studying for the Bar exam between now and next fall (when they are planning on getting married). I am more than happy to take some of the stress off their backs and help them plan a beautiful and special wedding.

Wine Glasses

I love these wineglasses! They are perfect for a couple just starting out who is looking to build a barware collection with a little more flair!

I have noticed amber glass popping up more often now and think it is great. What a perfect way to add a touch of color to any event.

I am on a total stationery kick right now. I am not sure who I am going to send notes to, but I sure do have a lot of cute stuff to write them on. One of my favorites is always the dollar bins at both Michael's and Target but if you are looking for something a little fancier check these out:

Wedding Paper Diva's is great. Their personalized thank you notes are just great and would be perfect for any couple busily working through their post wedding thank you notes.

The next, I just came across today and fell in love instantly. Egg Press may be my new obsession-one can never go wrong with a letterpress greeting card. Even better they are having a sample sale now through April 20th.

Email is always quick and easy but there is still something so special about both sending and receiving a handwritten note.

As the outdoor wedding season approaches, what better what to point your guests in the right direction!

Under the Sea

I am so excited about these because my sister was married on the beach about a year ago and I think they will make a perfect 1st anniversary gift for her!

Welcome Erin and Michael

It has been a busy couple of weeks here at KL Wedding Designs LLC and I would like to welcome Erin and Michael to the group! Erin and Michael are planning a long distance wedding (both the bride and groom live in Boston) for July 2010. With the reception at Union Terminal, I know it will be beautiful!

My New Favorite Love Song

I love the song 1234 by the Plain White T's. I think it is such a pure love song. I will be so excited if this is the first dance at a wedding I am at this summer!

Welcome Nikki and Micah

Nikki and Micah just hired KL Wedding Designs LLC last minute to help out the weekend of their April Wedding. The couple will be getting married at the beautiful Covenant Presbyterian Church in downtown Cincinnati and I am keeping my fingers crossed that they have beautiful weather and are able to get some great pictures across the street in Garfield Park. I have already met Nikki and her mom so I am very excited to meet Micah when the couple comes back into town for their big day!

Congratulations to.....

Jennifer and Matt!!

Jennifer and Matt are the winners of "The Great Wedding Giveaway" and will receive 50% off the Wedding Weekend planning package.

Thank you to all who left comments.
